Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Christmas lights have just been hung in Venice, Florida, and downtown is breathtaking. Two rows of decorated palm trees line the median of Venice Avenue for a couple blocks, drawing many visitors at night. There were so many pedestrians and cars I came back the next morning before sunrise, and had the street pretty much to myself. It was amazing. I was able to get a lot of photos before the sleepy town woke up. Venice is in Sarasota county on the west coast of Florida, and is known for its love of the arts and wonderful beaches. Many of the buildings were built in the 1920's which give the town its charm. This photo is an HDR and has a slight oil paint effect on it. This would make a great Christmas card. I have another photo of this that is cropped larger with more sky and the building on the left.
